The world shortage on kids talent is nearing an end. Soon all of the great roles for youth will have been done already, and the kids talent movement that has so gripped our nation for the past few decades will subside to a dull ripple in the national consciousness.

For some kids talent will always be something of a mystery. People will talk about it, they might even imagine that they have it, but as we can see in even the most big-budgeted monster blockbuster movies, even when the director thinks highly of a kids talent, it doesn't mean the talent is there. Take the new Star Wars episode and that supremely annoying little dookie that plays the young boy Anakin Skywalker. Which producer's nephew was this kid? His performance induced the vomit reflex with the same predictable consistency as Jar-Jar Binks' only Jar-Jar is by far the superior actor! Either he is closely related to a major investor, or the casting director in charge of reviewing this kids talent was asleep at the wheel.

So we can be thankful that for many kids talent does come naturally, and for these kids talent is what gets them through at the end of the day, giving us an enjoyable performance, and the creators of the project the right to feel proud. But beware, now that so much of Hollywood is run by kids talent could become a bit of a thing of the past...
