There are about a million different qualities that you can look for in a summer camp. One would hope that it would be safe to assume that summer camp will be fun no matter where you go, but it's important that wherever you go there will be some of your favorite things to do.

Most every summer camp will have a drama section, but if you are really into acting, look for a summer camp that specializes in the performing arts, hopefully with a program that culminates in a final week of performances of pieces created by the kids at the summer camp.

Don't completely ignore the summer camp with the boating and archery programs though. These kinds of activities and skills will make you more of a well-rounded actor, and even though this more traditional style of summer camp may not concentrate on the arts, there is still a lot a young actor can get out of this type of summer camp. Some of them even teach filmmaking!
